War blog #1

A long way gone is a book about a boy name Ishmael it takes off when he is 10 years old. 2 years after the story starts his village is over ran by the rebels. His brother and friends have run trying not to get captured by the rebels. They try to get as far away as possible but it is hard due to the lack of food and money. They go from village and village looking for a place to spend the night and good to eat. There are a lot of close in counters with the rebels, but they mange to lose them. They end up staying at a village called Kamator. The boys spend boys spend a lot of time there and one night with out any warning they are attacked. Ishmael loses his brother and runs as far as he can. His goal is to get near the sea, but he is completely by himself with out any direction or food and all he can think about is the dead bodies that he has passed so far walking through the villages.

I have no clue how these kids could go through this. I know if I was in Ishmael place I would be lost. I would have no clue what to do at all. Now since he lost his brother and friends I would be even more devastated. I hate being alone.  Also after seeing all of the dead and guts splattered all of the place I wouldn't be able to close my eyes. I can't wait to read on and find out what else happens to him.  I believe he will eventually meet up with his brother again!

  1. Hi Kyle, This is a great write up of the book. Do you think Ishmael will find his brother and friends? Also, do you think he will succeed with his goal of getting to near the sea?

    1. I don't want to spoiler to much because i have no clue how far you have read into the book, but Ishmael finds a new group of people and they do reach the ocean, but are driven out of the village that they tried to stay in and they are on a search to find his family and a safe place to go.
